January 7, 2015

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break, and I know that many of us are heading back to work this week. Employment is the subject of this Wednesday’s readings, and I’ve also included some Sentinel articles on this topic.  (Please send me an email if you don’t have a jsh-online subscription and would like a copy of any of these articles.)
Here is a short poem by Patricia Perkins from the August 22, 1994 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel which makes a sweet introduction to this topic:

God is our Employer.
The firm is God and man;
Our permanence is established,
In fact, before the world began.
No one is made redundant—
His plan for us is well done!
Our employment is the expression of
God’s love for everyone.
